Biography:

After receiving a Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, I spent 11 years as a collegiate athletic trainer, strength & conditioning coach, and professor.  During that time, I had the pleasure of working with collegiate teams/athletes, professional teams/athletes, traveling internationally with USA National teams, and being a part of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.  From these experiences, I was able to witness, learn from, and cultivate ideas from amazing people, athletes and coaches.

After moving to Pagosa Springs, I decided I wanted to be involved in coaching my own kids.  Like many parents, I began coaching thru our Parks and Rec programs. This then moved to coaching youth football and little league baseball.  Currently, I serve as a board member on Pagosa Springs Little League, officiate basketball, and volunteer coach with Parks and Rec.

As a family, I have 3 boys and a very supportive, patient wife.  Together, our goal is to raise children who are positive influences in their community and their families, put others before themselves and are willing to put in the work to receive the reward(s).

I view coaching as an opportunity to learn, to grow, to teach.  I believe the majority of coaches, like teachers, learn more from their students than the students learn from them.  As we learn from others, our students, and ourselves, we grow as parents, as mentors, as coaches, and as a family. Out of this comes the ability to teach life thru a common passion, sports.
