CoEd Varsity Track
“To most of us the future seems unsure, but then it always has been; and we who have seen great changes must have great hopes.”
To the members of the Pirate Track Team:
I tell you at the beginning of every season how passionate I am for the sport of track and field. Sports shaped me into the person that I am today, but track was the sport that pushed me to my limits and made me physically and mentally stronger. Coaching track has allowed for my continued love and appreciation of the sport.
While we don’t know what tomorrow or the rest of the season brings, I would still like to stay in touch with you and provide a way for you to continue to grow in your progress in sports. I know that we have at least one senior who, if given the opportunity of a track season would be a 12 sport athlete. There are also some of you that are striving to reach that goal as well by the end of your senior year. I’m still looking for a way to award participation and or athletic letters in track and field for the 2020 season. Although none of these activities are required, they could help you to be a participant in the 2020 season.
Here are some ways in which you can participate:
Each Monday, I have been posting the week’s workouts on pagosaathletics.com. You can keep a journal on your physical progress each week including what you did, how you felt, and goals to focus on for the next week. You can email me journals every week. I need to remind you that you cannot meet others for the workout and that they need to be done on your own or with a person living in your house with you.
Starting Wednesday 4/1 and each week, I will be posting a character development video and a PDF to go with it on pagosaathletics.com. You can watch the video and read the PDF. There are also questions on the PDF that you could answer and email to me.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Take care of yourself.
